What equipment do the Pre-K / K program (Spring Session) participants need?
Participants in this program just need a Women's Lacrosse Stick.
When does the youth season begin and how long does it last?
The Spring Outdoor House League season starts at the beginning of April and our season finale is usually around the second weekend in June.
Practices and Games?
Practice 3 times a week until the game schedule starts. Once the season starts, there are 2 practices and 1 game per week.
Practice time is generally 1.5 hours.
Time of practice may vary form coach to coach.
Game schedules normally available in mid April.
Directions and maps to all away games will be provided to you.
What is the 1/2 grade team like?
The 1/2 grade league is for students in first and second grade. Games are held on a smaller than regulation field 40 x 60 with seven regulation players and one goalie in the game. Emphasis is on skills development and fun. Our players will play all positions & will learn a lot by the end of the season. Stick checking is not allowed.
What is the 3/4 grade team like?
The 3/4 grade league is for students in third or fourth grade. Games are held on a smaller than regulation field 40 x 60 with seven regulation players and one goalie in the game. Emphasis is on skills development and fun. Our players will play all positions & will learn a lot by the end of the season. Stick checking is not allowed.
What is the 5/6 grade team like?
The 5/6 grade league is for students in the fifth or sixth grade. Games are held on a regulation field with a regulation number of players in the game. Emphasis is on skills development and fun. Players will play different positions, but will begin to focus on and learn the finer points of a specific position in preparation for the modified level. Stick checking is not allowed.
When are the Irondequoit Lacrosse jerseys handed out?
Irondequoit Lacrosse Jerseys (pinnie and shorts) are handed out sometime before the first RALL game, which is usually the last weekend in April or the first weekend in May.
The jerseys are yours to keep.
Who is eligible to play?
Residents of West Irondequoit.
Are there ever any rain outs or cancelations?
Lacrosse is an all weather sport, but lightning and other extreme conditions (cold, hard rain, excessive heat, etc.) will stop play. Safety is always the top concern when it comes to our players.
Games would more than likely be re-scheduled, but practice most likely would not be.
